“The main cemetary of al-Baqi’ [also known as Jannatul-Baqi’, “the garden of Heaven”],outside Medina where many members of the Prophet’s family are buried in mausoleums. Every Thursday the inhabitants of Medina would place flowers and basil on the tombs of relatives. The site no longer exists [it was destroyed in 1925].”
